Trying to Model Contrast Discrimination Dippers
2nd January 2007

How perceptually different are these images?

CRS were proud to support the AVA Christmas Meeting 2006, which was held at the University of Aston.

We were very pleased to sponsor the CRS Guest Lecture Trying to Model Contrast Discrimination Dippers given by David J. Tolhurst, University of Cambridge, UK, who has been using CRS equipment since the 1980's. You can view David's lecture on-line with slides and audio.

We have an exciting program of guest lectures coming up for publication in the new year in the Research Topics area of our website:

  • Visual Duplicity: Action without Perception in the Human Visual System
Melvyn A. Goodale (recorded October 2006)
  • Functional Specificity in the Cortex: Selectivity, Experience, and Generality
    Nancy Kanwisher (recorded November 2006)
  • Macular pigment optical density determined by reflectometry and flicker: Is flicker the gold standard?
    Richard Bone (recorded November 2006)
  • Color based object identification: alternatives to inverse optics
Qasim Zaidi (to be recorded January 2007)
  • Eye movements and visual perception
Richard Abadi (to be recorded January 2007)
