Advanced AVI Hub features

A simple setup is perfect for most situations, but you may want to take advantage of the AVI Hub's additional features to create a highly flexible audio-visual system for your MRI exam room.

Input options

In addition to (or instead of) a tablet, you can connect a total of 4 HDMI sources and one DisplayPort source to the AVI Hub and switch between them at the touch of a button. For example:

  • Computers or laptops with HDMI or DisplayPort output (or USB C with a suitable adapter).
  • A Blu-ray Disc player or DVD player with HDMI output.
  • A streaming media device with HDMI output.

Clone monitor

A second monitor can be connected to monitor the BOLDscreen image from the control room. The rear of the AVI has a clone HDMI output for this purpose. This clone output is identical to the main output and produces video at 1920x1080 @ 120Hz. We have tested the clone output with 24” ViewSonic XG2401 and XG2402 LCD monitors – other desktop LCD monitors should work too if they can support 1920x1080 @ 120Hz via HDMI 2.0, or DisplayPort using an HDMI 2.0 to DisplayPort cable.

Audio amplifier and headphone options

Instead of using the scanner intercom, the rear of the AVI provides an S/PDIF audio output which can be connected with an optical fibre (Toslink) cable to an alternative MRI headphones amplifier.  For high quality audio and a range of headphones and earbud options, we suggest the BOLDfonic amplifier.
